Tour Update

When you have a goal, a really big goal, you get tested by the Universe if you are sure, if you are really, really sure, if you are ready and if you are up to the task.
Believe me, I have already been tested if I am up to the task just by starting getting Rami (our van) ready.
At the end of last year when I was taking actions towards making this tour a reality I had spoken with someone who wanted to help me with the van conversion. Unfortunately he moved to British Columbia at the beginning of the year so I had to find someone else which turned out not to be an easy task, however, I finally found someone but he never came through. Miraculously someone else appeared out of nowhere. He just retired and had lots of time on his hands. It was amazing.
Since it was still cold and snowing we couldn’t start with the work until we found a place somewhere inside. After a couple of weeks, we were just about to start when, sadly, the gentleman had an accident and was not able to help anymore.
So my journey finding someone continued.
I started to get a bit worried about the timing. By now, it was already April and I had wanted to be on the road the end of May beginning of June.
I searched high and low and didn’t find anyone so I started looking for companies who are converting vans. I spoke with two different companies but their fees were astronomical.
I finally found someone who even had van conversion experience, how awesome was that. We spend a lot of time talking the project over, made a timetable, started to look for material, wow. Finally it was going to happen then, the day before the work was about to begin he send me an email telling me he had changed his mind.
I couldn’t believe it. This was the 6th person who wanted to help with the project and didn’t come through.
Why, why was this happening?
By now the time line which I had shared with you, starting the sour by May/June, was out of the window.
Looking at the bigger picture, if my family and I will be on the road for months or years, what do a few month matter except that being in Canada I really don’t want to start the tour at the beginning or in the middle of winter.
Anyway, from a totally unexpected side, at the beginning of June, I did find two carpenters who were willing to help me with my project.
Both never had done anything like this before and the way I had planed the conversion needed to be adjusted, big time adjusted, but if this is what it takes to make this a reality, then I just have to do it, Sometimes you have to take a detour but the Important thing is to keep your goal in mind and who knows what all the delays, etc are good for.
The major changes are now a later starting date and a budget is now 4 x higher then planned for.
I am committed to this, I want to make a change in the world, for the animals, a change to make this world a better place for them.
It is not going to be easy, it will be hard, it will be scary but I am prepared doing it.

The 4 goals of my upcoming tour are:

Raising Awareness
Education
Saving Lives
Interviews
